Want to feel the camaraderie of a mass start? Want the chance to beat some people in a competition and prove all that training hasn’t been in vain? Or you might just want something new to aim for.

Either way, we’ve got you covered with our guide to all of the organised events happening across the UK this year. We’ve tried to cover a bit of everything, but if you think we’ve missed something off, or if you have an event you’d like us to include, please drop us a line at

We’re not going to lie, spending weeks in front of spreadsheets wasn’t really something we’d considered when starting up an outdoors website. Staring lovingly at shiny new jackets and having arguments about hood sizing, sure, but spreadsheets? They definitely weren’t on the job application form. Nevertheless we managed to tough it out, and have compiled these listings.

Seeing as we’ve spent so long compiling, we thought it best that we show off as much as possible, and so we’re displaying them in as many ways as we can think of. Hopefully you will find one of them interesting/useful. Probably more useful though.

Find an event near to you with this. The different categories of events are all colour-coded.

Here’s a handy Google Calendar that should help you to organise your outdoor diary for the remainder of the year. Possibly.
Otherwise, check out lower down the page for more info on each of the events.

Calendar Key:

Green: Running event
Grey: Cycling event
Blue:  Swimming event
Purple: Triathlon event
Brown: Adventure race event

We’ve broken down the events into categories, and then uploaded by month, to try and avoid the pain of trawling through thousands of events all at once.
