Right, it finally looks as if the weather is on the cusp of turning in the UK (it has just snowed outside the office window though). Have you got any events planned for the spring/ early summer?

We’ve put together a list of events that take our fancy over the next few months. There’s loads to choose from as we get into the summer so we’ve picked some interesting ones.

One Month(ish) away:

Yorkshire 3 Peaks Fell race: 24th April 2013
The historic fell race across taking on the White Rose county’s three highest peaks.

Two Months Away

On Foot:

The Welsh 1000m Peak Race: 1st June 2013
A simple jog up the five biggest mountains in Snowdonia.- all over 1000 metres tall; Carnedd Llewelyn, Carnedd Dafydd, Glyder Fawr, Crib Y Ddysgl and Snowdon itself. There are slightly easier options for those not sufficiently qualified for the full mountain route.

The Dentdale Beauty and the Beast: 1st June 2013
Take your pick between the Beauty, the Beastie of the full-on Beast, a choice between a 14, 50 or 80 mile ride through the Yorkshire Dales. We know which we’d go for.

The Epic Lakes Swim: Coniston Water: 2nd June 2013
The first round of the three leg open water swimming series. This time it’s a 3.8km dip in the iconic Coniston Water. Wetsuits are compulsory, which is probably a good thing.

Lakeland Trails Marathon: 2nd July 2013
An off-road marathon in an epic location, circling Coniston Water. There is the option of a half marathon for those that prefer to sit and take in the scenery.

London to Paris 24: 6th-8th July 2013
London to Paris in 24 hours on a bike. There’s not much more to it than that. Except the 280 miles in between the two.

A bit of Everything:

The Bournemouth International Triathlon Sprint & Aquathlon: 7th July 2013
A proper triathlon with swimming in the sea at Bournemouth. There are different distance options too, Olympic – 1500m Sea Swim, 40k bike and 10k Run
Sprint – 750m Sea Swim, 20k bike and 5k Run or an Aquathlon – 750m Sea Swim and 5k Run, for those that don’t fancy the run.
