Inov-8 runner Ray Zahab completes his mammoth 2400km run across the Gobi desert
Just under a month ago we posted up a story about Ray Zahab and his epic run across the Gobi Desert in Mongolia. Well, he’s just finished.
The Canadian athlete has just completed the 2400km run finishing up in an oasis at the very edge of the desert. The final 200km seemed to be a real struggle for the endurance athlete, with a back injury preventing him from running the final stretch. Instead, Zahab crossed the final section of desert at a brisk march rather than full jogging pace.
Nevertheless the entire expedition has been a monster achievement. Check out the last couple of video updates (below) from the runner as takes on the piddly last few hundreds of km. Getting tracked by wolves with a military escort to ward off said wolves doesn’t happen everyday.
